50 years ago (1964)
Mary Sloan, children’s librarian at the Everett Public Library, announced the first of the fall season Story Hours for this Saturday morning. As usual, Sloan suggested that children be no younger than kindergarten age, and the small one be accompanied by an older adult.
Plans for the annual smorgasbord were made when the Everett High School Band Mothers Club held its first fall meeting recently. Marjorie Crull was named chairwoman of the smorgasbord, which was scheduled for Nov. 10 in the high school cafeteria. Band director Jack Potter discussed band activities.
25 years ago (1989)
Sandy Gotch, assistant administrator at the Everett Clinic, had been elected president of the Washington State Medical Group Management Association for the 1989-90 year. The association had 261 members statewide.
In Edmonds a park was proposed as part of a stormwater detention project. It was in the Chase Lake area south of 220th St. SW on 84th Ave. W. The project was designed to improve water quality and help control downstream flooding. Interested parties could attend an informational meeting at Edmonds Unitarian Church.
