50 years ago (1964)
Everett High School Homecoming Queen Judy Clough admired the Junior Class Homecoming display, which took first prize in the annual contest today. Queen Judy and her court would reign over Homecoming activities this evening.
The EHS Baby Gulls won their 15th straight with a closing victory over Blanchet, 13-7. The Gulls struck for two touchdowns in the second period, as Gary Wall and Bob Cummins provided the Sophs with air yardage and Wall added just enough running. Otto Smith was the coach.
25 years ago (1989)
Gary Meisner, new president of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce, hoped to guide the Chamber to bring people and business back to downtown. Meisner owned the Small Business Center, an accounting, tax preparation, employee benefit and securities specialist.
A warm cup of coffee helped fend off the chill for Gail Blowers in Everett yesterday evening. Dressed as a unicorn, she was attracting motorists to a rummage sale. Proceeds were to help pay expenses for Chad Wampler, a Lake Stevens boy who was having reconstructive surgery after a car accident.
