Hasler’s Restaurant, 2913 Norton Ave., under construction for a year, would open to the public the day after tomorrow. With a Swiss design inside and out, it was unique for Everett. Steaks were a specialty of the Haslers who raised their own beef. The Trophy Room would be Everett’s newest cocktail lounge.
Scott Allen Fredrickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fredrickson, 1902 Hoyt Ave., was a year old today. His older sisters were Laura Marie and Jolene Ann. Grandparents were Mrs. H.H. Fredrickson, Everett; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fyfe, Sedro-Woolley.

On tap tomorrow was an all-day bass fishing clinic at Jerry’s Surplus, featuring a number of the best bass fishermen in the area. These experts would present the where-to and how-to of successful bass fishing in Washington and would be available for one-on-one question/answer sessions. Several rigged boats would be on display.
What goes around, comes around. Such was the case of the hula hoop at the Everett YMCA’s over-50 workout. Some using them for stretching exercises were Helen McDaniel, Janet Oliver, Betty Goodwin and Ryan Moody. The fad originally emerged in 1958 and soon spread around the country.
