EVERETT — A semi truck caught fire Thursday morning along northbound I-5 just south of the Highway 526 interchange in Everett.
Traffic was backed up for 5 miles, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The carpool lane was open to all traffic because of the closure of the two farthest right lanes.
The transportation department recommended other routes, such as Highway 99.
