MONROE – A man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank here Wednesday may be the same robber who has held up banks in King County.
Just before 3 p.m., the man handed a teller a note stating he had a gun and wanted money. He picked up the cash and ran from the bank. A police dog tried to track the suspect but lost the scent after a short time.
FBI agents advised Monroe investigators that the man’s description matched that of a man who has robbed five banks in Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond and Renton, Monroe police commander Jan O’Neil said.
He is described as a white man with an olive complexion, about 45 to 50 years old and speaks with an European accent. He was wearing glasses and a brown bomber jacket.
Wells Fargo Bank is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Monroe police tip line at 360-863-4600.

Abdul-Rahim Aubed Al-Rikabi, 46, a former cabdriver, was convicted of indecent liberties and indecent exposure in Snohomish County Superior Court in 2003. His victims were people he picked up in his cab, according to the Everett Police Department.
He lives in the 1200 block of Everett Avenue and is described as white, 6 feet tall and 152 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with questions may call the state Corrections Department at 425-290-3200.
Got an older, energy-wasting refrigerator or freezer? The Snohomish County PUD will pay you $35 and even take it to a recycler for you.
The program lasts either until the end of the year or until the utility collects 3,750 old fridges, whichever comes first.
“The program is aimed at reducing the number of inefficient refrigerators and freezers in use and helping customers reduce overall energy use,” said Bob Nicholas, PUD manager of product development.
The units to be recycled must be in working condition and be 1995 models or older. Only Snohomish County PUD customers may participate. For more information or to arrange pickup, call 877-577-0510. Have your PUD account number available when you call.
