Serious injury crash blocks Highway 99 in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD – A serious injury accident this afternoon blocked Highway 99 near 176th Street SW, officials said.

Firefighters were working to free people from the wreckage, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.

A head-on crash apparently occurred sometime around 11:30 a.m.

Crews were expected to take the patients to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the region’s trauma center.

The road likely was blocked for some time as crews investigated the crash.
