ARLINGTON — A memorial service for Tamara Mattson will be today in Arlington.
Mattson, 39, was found on a trail at Camano Island State Park Dec. 9. She had traumatic injuries to her head and neck.
Island County Sheriff’s Office detectives believe Mattson was dumped at the park within 48 hours of when her body was found.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and filing of charges against the person or persons responsible for Mattson’s death.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1722 43rd Ave. NE, Arlington.

Accident witnesses sought: Police are asking for the public’s help in locating witnesses to a fatal accident that happened Monday.
Michael Waterman was killed when his car was hit by a man allegedly running from a State Patrol trooper about 11 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 526 and SE Everett Mall Way.
Detectives learned that the suspect’s vehicle narrowly missed a pickup during the chase on eastbound Highway 526, referred to as the Boeing Freeway.
Investigators would like to speak to the driver of the truck and anyone else who witnessed the incident.
