TACOMA — A registered sex offender from Vancouver, Washington will spend the next 23 years in prison for photographing himself with a sleeping 10-year-old girl.
Acting U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes says Blaine Nipp offered to help a family take care of the girl after she broke her leg while riding her bike. The family didn’t know Nipp was a convicted sex offender who was prohibited from being around children.
When the 37-year-old Nipp was alone with the girl while she was asleep and on pain medicine, he took photos and made videos that were later found on his electronic devices.
After his 23 years in prison, he’ll spend another 25 years on supervised release.
