EVERETT – Temperatures are forecast to plummet tonight and officials said they will open special cold-weather shelters through Sunday.
Sub-freezing temperatures and snow are in the forecast for the next few days, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
The Salvation Army and Trinity Episcopal Church plan to open the overnight shelters for the next few nights, officials said.
These emergency cold weather shelters are only open on unusually cold nights and serve to supplement the primary, year-round emergency shelters, such as Everett Gospel Mission, officials said.
