Shelton man, 80, says he killed in self defense

SHELTON — The Mason County sheriff’s office says an 80-year-old Shelton man said he killed a 51-year-old acquaintance who attacked him during an altercation.

Deputies responded to a 911 call Tuesday evening from a residence near Shelton where they found the dead man, Scott Tracey Jeffries of Shelton.

The sheriff’s office says Charles Lewis Anderson was outside and cooperated with investigators. He was jailed on suspicion of murder.
