Sheriff investigates suspicious death

DARRINGTON — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death in the 51600 block of Crawford Loop Road in the Darrington area.

Sheriff’s deputies received a call late Wednesday night from a man who said his girlfriend had shot herself, sheriff’s Lt. Kathi Lang said.

Detectives from the major crimes unit were at the home much of the day Thursday.

The dead woman’s name was not released.
