EVERETT — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Monday opened a community crime prevention center in the Albertson’s Food Center at 520 128th St. SW.
Its purpose is to serve as a public outlet for crime prevention, safety and other information, sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
It also will act as a satellite office for sheriff’s deputies who will use the facility for completing reports, making telephone calls and meeting with witnesses.
The facility will be staffed with crime prevention officers and volunteers. It is open to the public 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. The store is open 24 hours, Jorgensen said.
The store provided the space, construction and much of the office equipment and furnishings, Jorgensen said.
