Monroe
Injured skateboarder back home: An 11-year-old Monroe boy is home from the hospital, continuing to recover from injuries suffered when he was struck by a car last Friday night, police said Thursday.
The boy was skateboarding in the 600 block of Main Street when he reportedly darted into traffic in front of a pickup, Monroe police said. The driver, 21, was unable to avoid hitting the boy, police said.
Witnesses told officers the boy, dressed in dark clothing, did not look before skateboarding onto Main Street, police said.
The boy was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and released several days later.
