Snohomish County sheriff’s officials are trying to find the owner, or grave, of a Victorian-era headstone found this month.
The headstone was discovered Sept. 5 in an overgrown lot in the 15700 block of Ash Way. It’s gray marble, 2 feet long, 1 foot wide and 6 inches deep, and has the following inscription:
“We loved her, yes we loved her/ But angels loved her more/ And so they sweetly called her /To yonder shining shore/ At Rest/ Gone but not forgotten/ MAGGIE A. LLOYD/ Died July 14, 1894/ Aged 3 Ys. 21 Ds.”
If you have any information about the headstone, contact the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 425-388-3845. The case reference number is SO04-21183.
