COLLEGE PLACE — At least three shots were fired in the direction of two College Place police officers, but no one was hurt and a suspect surrendered early today after a six-hour standoff.
Police say two officers went to a man’s home Monday night because a neighbor said he had been acting strangely and displaying a shotgun and handgun.
Police say shots were fired when they approached a door.
Additional police from Walla Walla, the sheriff’s office and Washington State Patrol responded. Negotiators talked the man into surrendering at 4:20 a.m. and he was jailed in Walla Walla.
