It’s 9:15 p.m. and Obama is addressing the country for the first time as president elect.
Martin Mundell and Ryan Pecarich are drinking Crown Royal whisky at Soundview Bar &Grill near the Everett waterfront.
The TV behind the bar in front of them is tuned to an NFL game, but they know Obama has won because other TVs in the bar are broadcasting election coverage.
Mundell and Pecarich are McCain supporters from Bellingham. They were in Everett salmon fishing, and Pecarich drove home earlier today just to vote.
“It is what it is,” Mundell says, sipping his drink. “A lot of people are happy – not particularly me. But since we’ve got a new captain, we’ll do what he says.”
