EVERETT — Police on Monday issued a composite drawing of a man who stabbed and choked a 14-year-old girl on the Interurban Trail last week.
Investigators got their first chance to interview the girl, who was attacked Oct. 9 about 6:20 a.m. as she walked on the trail just north of 112th Street.
She was headed for a girlfriend’s house on her way to Cascade High School, where she is a freshman.
The girl remains in Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in satisfactory condition.
Detective Joe Neussendorfer prepared the composite drawing based on the girl’s description of her attacker.
Police released the following description: a white man, 40- to 50-years old, about 6 foot 1 inch tall, with a light complexion and dirty blond, unkempt hair.
He was wearing a long-sleeved, red plaid shirt with a T-shirt underneath, blue jeans with a hole in the left knee and dark-colored athletic shoes.
After the attack, police questioned two transients who were camping in the woods near the trail. Both were arrested on unrelated charges; one since has been released.
The girl has not seen a picture of those men. No arrests have been made in the assault, officials said.
Detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8450.
