A man injured in a boating accident was released from the hospital Sunday after undergoing surgery and receiving 66 stitches.
The accident occurred about noon Saturday at Lake Goodwin. The victim was one of five people in their mid-20s aboard a 19-foot competition-style ski boat, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said.
The operator was making extremely sharp turns at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses, she said.
When the boat made a sharp turn, two men were ejected, Jorgensen said. The boat bumped one of the men, who was uninjured, but the second man’s leg got caught in the propeller.
Rescuers transported the injured man to Providence Everett Medical Center’s Colby Campus, where he underwent surgery and was released Sunday night. His leg was broken in two places, Jorgensen said.
No charges are anticipated, Jorgensen said.
