Scratch Rep. Skip Priest from the list of possible challengers to Superintendent of Public Instruction Terry Bergeson.
“I’m not running,” the Federal Way Republican told me late Monday afternoon.
I wouldn’t usually write about non-candidates but Priest had been giving serious thought to going for it. He’s been pretty vocal on education in the Legislature so it would have made for a very intriguing match-up.
State Sen. Jim Kastama, D-Puyallup, has been courted pretty hard too by
Bergeson critics. He has even hinted publicly he might run.
We’ll have to wait and see.
