EVERETT — Firefighters on Monday afternoon were summoned to the Kimberly-Clark plant to help douse a small fire.
Crews rushed to the plant on W. Marine View Drive about 2:40 p.m., Everett Fire Department Battalion Chief Joe Johnston said. They learned that some paper inside a paper processing machine caught fire, causing a lot of smoke on the second floor in one of the buildings.
The fire was contained to a metal box. The company’s workers used fire extinguishers. Everett firefighters later made sure the fire was out.
A large number of crews typically respond when called to a large commercial building, Johnston said.
