MONROE — A small earthquake was reported Friday outside of Monroe.
Preliminary data showed the magnitude-3.0 quake started just after 2:30 p.m., about three miles southeast of the city.
It was about 12 miles deep, officials said. A magnitude-2.5 quake is usually the lightest that can be felt by people.
Monroe police employees heard and felt the quake at the station on W. Main Street, spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
They got a couple of calls about the quake, but no one called reporting damage or injury, she said.
As of mid-afternoon, Snohomish County Fire District 3 in Monroe hadn’t fielded any calls for help either, said Capt. Jeff Zornes, acting battalion chief for the district.
“Most of us didn’t even feel it,” he said.
