BOTHELL — Ken Smith is headed back to the Northshore School Board, after resigning from the same job last month to run for a state Senate seat, then having a change of heart.
The other board members voted Tuesday to reappoint Smith as an interim director. He’s expected to serve on the board until November, when voters are to decide who fills the remaining two years of his term.
Smith left the board in April intending to run for the Senate from the 45th Legislative District.
Smith is expected to be sworn in at the board’s June 13 meeting. A Kenmore resident, he has two children in Northshore schools and works as an associate professor of accounting at Central Washington University.
Bob Swain, of Kenmore, and Sherry Krainick, of Bothell, have filed to run in the election to take over Smith’s District 2 seat.
