YAKIMA — A Snohomish woman is doing better after she got lost hiking this past weekend in Yakima County near White Pass.
The woman, 18, was camping with friends near Rimrock Lake on Saturday and became separated from the group, Yakima County sheriff’s Sgt. George Town said.
Police joined search and rescue teams and searched for her throughout the night and found her just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
The woman was “in relatively good condition,” Town said. She had been wearing shorts and flip-flops and spent the night in freezing temperatures. She had hiked several miles through rough terrain and snowy fields.
The woman was taken to a local hospital to be checked over. Her injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
