Students and staff in the Everett Community College accounting department plan to help AARP members offer free tax-form preparation to middle- and low-income taxpayers, especially to those who are age 60 and older.
People in north Snohomish County and Island County can get tax help at a number of locations, without making the trek to Everett, organizer Laura Little said.
Tax forms can be filed by e-mail with help from volunteer aides at the following times and locations:
Arlington: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd. To make an appointment, call 360-653-4551.
Camano Island: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Camano Island Senior and Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road. Appointments: 360-387-0222.
Langley: 1 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, South Whidbey Senior Center, 14594 Highway 525. Appointments: 360-321-1600.
Marysville: 11 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Baxter Senior and Community Center, 514 Delta Ave. Appointments: 360-363-8450. Also in Marysville, 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Appointments: 360-658-5000.
Oak Harbor: 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Oak Harbor Library, 1000 SE Regatta Dr. Appointments: 360-675-5115.
Stanwood: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays, Stanwood Senior and Community Center, 7430 276th St. NW. Appointments: 360-629-7403.
Taxpayers need to bring along valid picture and taxpayer identification, W-2 forms, last year’s income tax return, unemployment compensation statements, Social Security benefits statements, pension statements, interest and dividend forms, child care provider information and Social Security numbers for all dependents.
