Snohomish County officially takes over Wenberg State Park during a ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The state is handing over the 46-acre property on Lake Goodwin as a way to manage budget cuts. The county does not have to pay anything, but must agree to keep the park open to the public.
The county is making two big changes: banning alcohol inside the park and imposing a $5 charge per vehicle at the front gate.
