SNOHOMISH — Firefighters this morning knocked down a blaze that destroyed a two-story home.
Crews rushed just before 8 a.m. to a newer, two-story house off Trombley Road at 11th Place SE, Snohomish Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief John Hinchcliffe said.
Nobody was home at the time. The homeowners were away on vacation, he said.
Investigators from the Snohomish County fire marshal’s office have been trying to identify what sparked the fire.
The blaze most likely started in the three-car garage, Hinchcliffe said.
No fire hydrants are close by, so crews had to use fire tenders, trucks that carry water.
Fire crews from Snohomish, Monroe, Lake Stevens and Sultan responded.
