OLYMPIA – State Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish, has been appointed to a legislative committee that considers whether state agency rules conform to the intent of state laws.
The Joint Administrative Rules Review Committee also holds hearings to determine if the effects of agency rules on small businesses are in line with Washington’s Regulatory Fairness Act.
Kristiansen’s role may be limited, however. The panel has not met in nearly two years, and no meetings are scheduled.
The eight-person panel is made up of four Democrats and four Republicans divided equally between the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Rep. Mark Miloscia, D-Federal Way, and Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Olympia, are responsible for scheduling meetings.
