SNOHOMISH — A 36-year-old Snohomish woman was arrested within minutes after a bank was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday.
The robbery took place at 12:47 p.m. Snohomish police received a silent alarm at Evertrust Bank, 1625 Ave. D, and arrived in two minutes, police said.
A woman showed a note, then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a red Ford Escort, police said. Witnesses said a dye pack possibly exploded inside the vehicle.
Sgt. Richard Johnson spotted the suspect vehicle a few blocks away and took the woman into custody, police said.
Officers said they found a handgun and money with red dye in the car. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of armed bank robbery and was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
