SPOKANE — Snow started falling in Spokane around midnight and the accumulation Wednesday in the city could total about 2 inches.
Mark Turner at the National Weather Service said unlike a couple of earlier snows, this one is sticking on the ground.
Two to 3 inches of snow also are falling in the Colville area of northeast Washington and 3 to 4 inches in the Blue Mountains of southeast Washington.
Up to 8 inches of snow are expected in the mountains of the Idaho Panhandle.
In Spokane, the street department planned to spread de-icer on hills and intersections and start plowing as the snow accumulates.
