Light snow was falling in south Snohomish County today, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.
Snow mixed with the rain was also falling in Everett as of 1:30 p.m. Everett and south Snohomish County, said Johnny Burg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle.
The temperature at 1 p.m. was reported at 34 degrees in Everett with snow and fog, while at Sea-Tac Airport it was partly sunny and 48.
The snow in south Snohomish County is already melting and is not expected to accumulate, Burg said.
A blast of cold air from the Gulf of Alaska was forecast to move into the area today and stick around for a few days, Burg said.
Snow could fall in the lowlands Saturday and low temperatures through Tuesday could mean overnight frost, according to the National Weather Service. In the mountain passes, as much as two feet of snow could pile up, Burg said.
