Snow forecast for weekend

A storm is likely to blanket Snohomish County with up to two inches of snow this weekend.

Rain showers are forecast to start in the county on Saturday afternoon and turn to snow over the night, as temperatures drop. The snow is expected to accumulate in the lowlands and mountains on Sunday, Dennis D’Amico, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Seattle, said today.

The weather service may issue a snow advisory on Saturday morning, D’Amico said.

“People need to be aware, stay tuned and plan accordingly,” he said.

The temperatures are expected to hover between the high 30s and the low 30s over the weekend. More snow could fall on the county through Tuesday, D’Amico said.
