Dreams of a white Christmas in Snohomish County just may come true.
Snow flurries are forecast to fall throughout Snohomish County Christmas morning, National Weather Service in Seattle officials said.
“It will probably start as wet snow,” meteorologist Dennis D’Amico said. “You should see some wet snow stick around into the afternoon or early evening.”
There’s not much chance for accumulation in the lowlands, he said. A trace of snow might stick in some of the higher hills.
Snow likely will pile up in the mountain passes, D’Amico said. As much as 11 inches could fall Tuesday night.
Traction tires are required over the pass today and drivers are encouraged to check pass conditions before they hit the road.
A chance of rain showers is forecast for Christmas Eve with temperatures near freezing.
