CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Travel remains dangerous in the southeast quarter of Wyoming because of a persistent spring snowstorm that has socked the state for three days.
More than 200 miles of Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and north through Casper was either closed or under a no travel advisory Wednesday morning. I-80 was shut down between Cheyenne and Laramie and snow and blowing snow slowed traffic west of Laramie.
A number of other highways in southeast and central Wyoming were also closed.
It’s the third day of snow from a spring storm system that has dumped up to 2 feet of snow in some mountain areas and up to a foot in lower areas.
The snowstorm is expected to finally move out in the evening.
