SEATTLE — Another shot of snow across Western Washington caused numerous traffic accidents, stalled commuters and delayed schools this morning.
But forecasters say it won’t stick around long. The National Weather Service says afternoon temperatures should reach 40.
The highest amounts of snow — up to 10 inches — were reported around Bellingham.
The system also is bringing significant snow to the Cascades and northeast Washington.
In Snohomish County, Granite Falls School District reported that school would open two hours late today, with buses operating on snow routes, and no a.m. kindergarten, preschool or ECEAP.
Edmonds Schools also were two hours late.
In Island County, Oak Harbor and Coupeville schools were two hours late.
The Transportation Department is advising traction tires on Snoqualmie and Stevens passes and requiring them on White Pass.
