ANCHORAGE, Alaska — An Alaska-based soldier was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of premeditated murder in the death of his 3-year-old son.
The U.S. Army says in a release that Sgt. Nathaniel Ulroan, 24, was found guilty during a court-martial Monday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
He earlier pleaded guilty to the murder count and other charges, including kidnapping, rape, sexual assault, assault and communicating a threat. Many of the charges stem from April 3 stabbing death of his son at the family home on Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks.
Ulroan, originally from Chevak, Alaska, joined the Army in October 2008 and served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
