Some grocery store shelves may look a little bare in Snohomish County today due to trucks stranded in the storm on the Oregon-California border.
Supervisor Dylan Burr of the Trader Joe’s in Everett said Monday night that the trucks aren’t expected today, and maybe not even on Wednesday.
"It’s not just produce, but all kinds of stuff," he said, adding that customers might not even notice because "we’re pretty well stocked."
The Marysville Albertsons should not see a problem because its trucks come from Portland, Ore. Likewise, the Everett Safeway on Rucker Avenue should be OK because its trucks come from Bellevue.
Representatives from the Thrifty in Stanwood, the QFC on 112th Street in Everett and the Haggens in Lake Stevens said they did not know if the holdup would affect them or not.
