LYNNWOOD — A man allegedly tried to light a fuse attached to a burrito, which was wrapped in foil and placed under a Lynnwood Police Department truck Sunday night.
Around 10 p.m., someone called 911 about a man bent down near the truck. He was reportedly lighting something underneath the vehicle, which was parked in the police department lot, then got into a BMW sedan, according to a news release from the Lynnwood Police Department.
Officers tried to contact the suspect, but he drove away and allegedly swerved into a sergeant’s vehicle. The sedan was stopped by the sergeant, who used a pursuit intervention technique called PIT, on the 196th Street Southwest overpass.
Police arrested the driver for investigation of second-degree arson and attempting to elude. He was not injured.
While that was happening, the Washington State Patrol Joint Bomb Squad was at the police station to examine what was under the truck. A robot, operated by bomb technicians, found that the object was a burrito or other food wrapped in foil, according to the news release.
