Somers joins Region X hopefuls, creates potential opening for Dunshee

Democratic Snohomish County Councilman Dave Somers has applied for appointment as the regional administrator for Environmental Protection Agency.

It is a crowded field with state Sen. Phil Rockefeller and former Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg also in the running. Everett City Councilman Paul Roberts is rumored on the list too.

If Somers lands the job, a replacement will be needed for him on the County Council. Rep. Hans Dunshee.told me he’d be interested in that gig – closer to home, better pay and they spend a lot of time talking about land use which is what he likes to talk about.
