Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a woman in her home Friday afternoon.
The woman, in her 50s, arrived home to find a man standing in her kitchen, Mountlake Terrace police Sgt. Doug Hansen said. The man told the woman he didn’t want to hurt her and then demanded drugs, Hansen said. The woman, a recovering addict, asked the man if he wanted her methadone. The man grabbed the woman by the hair and pulled her through the house.
The woman opened her safe. The suspect pushed her out of the way and grabbed the drugs. He told the woman not to call for help and he fled. The woman discovered that her cell phone had been broken. She ran to a neighbor’s home where she summoned police.
