SEATTLE — A 9-year-old boy who was walking home was hit in the arm by a BB in a drive-by shooting in south Seattle’s South Park neighborhood.
Police spokeswoman Renee Witt says the boy was not injured Thursday evening. He ran home to his grandmother who called 911.
Witt says it was the sixth drive-by BB shooting in the city in the past two weeks targeting pedestrians and bicycle riders. There have been two or three more in nearby areas of south King County. Five victims have required medical treatment.
Witt says police have increased patrols in an attempt to find the shooter.
An $8,500 reward is being offered through Crimestoppers.
