The state’s Fish and Wildlife Commission is looking for a new director as Jeffrey P. Koenings resigned Monday..
Commissioners held a special executive session Monday in which they voted to accept Koenings’ letter of resignation. His last day will be Dec. 11.
Commissioners issued a formal statement following the meeting saying they were “extremely grateful to Dr. Koenings for his service and contributions as Director of the Department for the past 10 years.”
The department has more than 1,500 employees and a $330 million budget this bieenium.
