A special three-day candidate filing period begins today for nine local offices, including the mayor of Gold Bar, where no one signed up in the regular filing period in May.
Aside from the mayor’s job, candidates are sought for one seat on the Gold Bar City Council; two seats on the Index Town Council and one seat apiece on the Index School District board, East County Parks and Recreation Commission, Lake Stevens Fire District Commission, and Snohomish County Fire Protection Districts 25 and 27.
Candidates can file in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office on the 1st floor of the County Administration Building, at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
You can file by email or fax as well but must submit any required fees by 5 p.m. Friday for the filing to be accepted.
In addition, county workers will be accepting paperwork at the Monroe Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library is located 1070 Village Way in Monroe.
Copies of the paperwork can be downloaded from www.snoco.org/elections.
