EVERETT — Spilled hydraulic fluid led to the evacuation of two assembly areas at the east end of the Boeing factory this morning, according to a company spokeswoman.
The spill happened about 9:30 a.m. and workers were forced to leave the building. No serious injuries were reported, although some people did have an adverse reaction to the smell of the fluid, said Debbie Heathers, a spokeswoman for Boeing’s Everett site. They were treated at the scene.
It was unclear how the spill happened or how large it was.
Workers went on lunch break and were expected to be allowed back into the buildings soon, Heathers said.
Tours of the Boeing factory were cancelled today, until further notice.
Public tours of the Boeing factory were cancelled early this morning, but they resumed at 11 a.m., said Sandy Ward, a spokeswoman for the Future of Flight museum.
