SPOKANE — Spokane police say a 65-year-old man was shot several times after he confronted officers with a gun.
The Spokesman-Review reports that Spokane County sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday night to a report of a couple arguing at an apartment. Police spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe says that when they tried to talk to the man, he produced a handgun and both officers opened fire.
City police, who are investigating the shooting, say the man was hospitalized in serious condition, while the deputies were not injured. Neither the officers nor the man were immediately identified.
