SPOKANE — A Spokane County sheriff’s deputy has been fired after multiple investigations revealed a pattern of bad behavior.
Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich said the latest investigation of former Deputy Travis Smith began last year after Smith stuck a knife into a vehicle seat while searching the vehicle after it was seized following a traffic stop.
The sheriff’s office said the deputy admitted responsibility for damaging the property and said he did it because he thought it was funny.
