SPOKANE — A change is coming to the way more than 100,000 households in Spokane and the Spokane Valley handle recycling.
Spokane Mayor David Condon announced Thursday the city is switching to single stream recycling in October.
Waste Management will deliver new, larger recycling bins to its customers in the city and Spokane Valley in September, and they can put all the recyclables in the bin without sorting.
The Spokesman-Review reported the materials will be sorted at Waste Management’s Spokane Material and Recycling Technology Center on the West Plains.
