SPOKANE — Spokane police chief Anne Kirkpatrick said she only intended to stay in the job for five years, and that time is approaching.
Kirkpatrick has told Spokane Mayor Mary Verner that it is time to start thinking about finding a replacement.
The 51-year-old Kirkpatrick said she will reach the 5-year milestone in September, and has no job offers at this time. Kirkpatrick has applied for openings in Seattle and San Francisco in recent years.
Kirkpatrick was chosen in 2006 as the first woman to serve as Spokane’s chief.
