SEATTLE — The Spokane City Council voted to accept a $2.1 million bid for 48 acres of the former Playfair horse track.
A company that makes grain storage bins and steel studs, SCAFCO Corp., will use part of the property for a factory and sell or lease the rest as the Playfair Business &Industrial Park.
The Spokesman-Review reports that in approving the deal Monday, the city is selling the land at about half the price it paid per acre in 2004. It had planned to build a sewage plant with the county, but the county decided to built it elsewhere.
