SPOKANE VALLEY — Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich is frustrated with a Spokane Valley drug rehab center that refused to give deputies information about a robbery suspect.
The 31-year-old man is suspected of stabbing a gas station attendant Saturday night and riding off on a bicycle that was found outside American Behavior Health Systems.
KXLY reported the staff told deputies that federal privacy law prevented from saying whether the suspect was in the building or even was a resident.
The center’s director of operations says the staff would have cooperated if deputies had a warrant.
