SPOKANE — The SpokAnimal group has agreed to continue as Spokane’s animal shelter for up to five years.
The nonprofit wants out of the animal control business to focus on becoming a no-kill shelter. But, The Spokesman-Review reports, plans to consolidate city and county animal control agencies are on hold.
In March, city voters rejected a tax to expand the Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, also known as SCRAPS.
